Ghana Country Report: Building TVET Systems for Economic Transformation in Ghana

Supporting young people to acquire professional skills through technical and vocational education and training (TVET) is a key element of successful development in African countries. TVET systems are essential for addressing skills gaps, promoting inclusive growth, and enhancing productivity in emerging economies. Effective TVET programs can contribute to poverty reduction, social inclusion, and sustainable development by providing pathways to decent work and livelihoods.

This study assesses the existing status of Ghana’s TVET systems and, in response to those findings, proposes actionable policy and strategic interventions for policymakers and stakeholders to ensure that TVET education in Ghana is better positioned to contribute to the country’s socioeconomic development and economic transformation.
