Political Accountability Activity (POLA) Project

The POLA program, funded by USAID and implemented by the International Republican Institute (IRI), the National Endowment for Democracy (NED), and the International Federation for Electoral Systems (IFES), aims to enhance political accountability and transparency in Ghana’s democratic processes.

The program focuses on strengthening the capacity of civil society organizations, media, and political parties to promote transparency and accountability in governance. It emphasizes the importance of citizen participation and oversight in the political process, ensuring that elected officials are responsive to the needs and concerns of their constituents.

POLA is providing training and resources to civil society organizations and media to effectively monitor and report on government activities and electoral processes. POLA is also encouraging active citizen participation through public forums, community meetings, and digital platforms to foster dialogue between citizens and their representatives. POLA is further supporting the integrity of electoral processes by working with the Electoral Commission of Ghana and other stakeholders to ensure free, fair, and transparent elections, among others.

YOTA is privileged to be leading POLA’s youth-focused activities.
